Depth Guild // Alliance // Blackrock

This fight takes the cake as one of the most frustrating encounters in the game.  For 7-8 minutes, try getting everyone in the raid to not do something retarded.  The best thing is hearing "I lagged" or something right after someone craters.  By looking at other guilds, it seems 55 attempts or rather, killing it on the 55th attempt is kinda normal.  We did have a good chance last week, wiping at 12% but last week wasn’t to be, this week, was another story.

Pretty typical though, the attempt we kill it, I die.  Myself (Sakurachan) and Logar were the only casualties and the raid recovered very well.  Was a good effort by everyone involved and congrats to everyone who got loot.

The guild is progressing very well this week.  Azgalor + Gorefiend + Kaz’rogal means 3 new bosses down for the guild.  This is only going to get tougher as we race Christmas to hopefully get up to Illidan.  This is doable but it is going to be hard given our strict 4-day only raid schedule.

Given what this guild has to sacrifice in terms of farm content to progress, the guild is moving along very well.  Good job to all this week who pulled together to notch up some progression for the guild.

Azgalor we went in and one-shot.  I wasn’t there on Thursday, but I’m sure without all the learning of the trash + boss, I doubt it would of been possible for us to one shot him. 

Which brings us to Teron Gorefiend.  This fight is easy, if you have the right people getting the ghost debuff.  It isn’t a particular hard fight apart from that.  This is pretty much the last loot pinata boss in Black Temple.

Our next focus is Archimonde to get some phat T6 helms! 

I posted earlier in the week but that was from in Sydney.  I’ve been away so I missed out on the guild’s first kill of Kaz’rogal which as a long time coming.  The last few weeks have been busy for me.  Going to a bucks weekend in Cairns, dealing with multiple strains of the flu and just this weekend passed, a wedding in Sydney.  We also had the Guild’s 2nd Birthday Brisbane BBQ and night out.  Although Depth’s Birthday was more September, it was good to go out and see people who have been in the guild since the last BBQ and meet some new faces.  I heard that the Melbourne meet just this past weekend was pretty good also

We’ve been plagued lately of people taking time off for exams, some people stopped playing also so to prevent us from having this situation again, we had to go back and focus a couple of nights on getting other people attuned to Tier 6.

Over the coming weeks, I’m hoping we’ll make a bit more progress given the last shocking 3-4 weeks. 

Enough of my ramblings, the kill shot…

It has been pretty tight the last 3-4 weeks.  We still have a bit too much focus probably on clearing Tier 5 so that has left us with only 2 days for less depending on how the Tier 5 clear went to focus on Tier 6.  Last week was probably the first week that we’ve cleared all of Tier 5 within 2 days which was a great effort by all involved.  This left us with a day for Hyjal and Black Temple.  We’ve only had up until now about 2 hours tops in Hyjal and that was merely enough to get people attuned to Black Temple.

Given the good clear of Tier 5 through the week, we had enough time this week to kill Anetheron.  We did start working on trying to get to Kaz’rogal but ran out of time.  Hopefully we’ll be able to dedicate more time in the near future to Tier 6 INSTEAD of Tier 5.  Looking at the new loot coming out of Zul’Aman and heroic rewards, it seems another Tier is becoming redundant.  Good going Blizzard!
