Depth Guild // Alliance // Blackrock

We improved our clearing time with BWL this week.  We found the best time to do Razor and Vael at the start of the week after MC.  No other guilds were in there which totally removed the lag factor and allowed us to get along with the job.  Thursdays are another story!  Suffice to say, Friday we managed to fully clear the rest of BWL and leave us the rest of the week to tackle AQ.

 We’ve made pretty good progress and improved again on our progress from last week.  We got down Skeram pretty quickly last night and then moved on to Bug Family and got them down after about 3 attempts.  Moved on to get totally smashed by Sartura but I’m confident we can get her down tonight.

We could not have a post go by however without a screen shot!  This week, myself (Marcus), Dreweth, Bzlack, Tags (on his mage Slidermage) and Barik did Stratholme Baron.  Dreweth for some reason wanted to do Baron.  Can’t remember why but I’m always keen to help out a guildy, especially Dreweth.  Good things happen when you help guildies.  For the first time that I’ve ever seen, the Baron’s Mount dropped.  Barik was the lucky bastard that got it.  Grats to you Barik.  Here is a screenshot….

I believe that on Blackrock, there has only ever been one drop for alliance.  Make that 2 now.  I don’t think the other person who has one plays that much either.  At least Depth gets something thats rare….. MC is yet to drop us one legendary

This week (raid week that is) was a pretty crappy week for raiding to start off.  Anything that could go wrong, went wrong.  We had server issues on Wednesday night when we decided to venture into AQ40.  Thursday night we had insane lag issues in BWL and many Vael wipes to go with it.  Finally after getting Vael down due to various aggro pulls and stuff ups we topped the night off with a premature pull on Broodlord and wiped the raid.

We had a challenge set for the guild after getting Nefarian down which was to get Ragnaros down before Sons.  This was supposed to happen on Friday except we had the numbers/class break down for Blackwing Lair so we cleared up to Chromaggus, had yet another crappy night of raiding by having multiple wipes on Chromaggus.

Things started to turn around for us on Saturday.  Everyone was pretty pumped when we headed into Molten Bore.  We stood before Ragnaros and set ourselves the task of downing Ragnaros.  We went into the encounter with less healers than we normally do.  We had 3 paladins to heal 12 melee and even some ranged groups only had paladins to heal.  However, this was not enough to hold us back as the fury of Depth tore Ragnaros’s ass wide open in a staggering 2 mins 20 seconds.  We downed ragnaros with 40 seconds to spare.  Around the 2 minute mark (well didn’t know it was 2 minutes at the time) Ragnaros was low and I was thinking the mod wasn’t working.  Then I saw the 1 min until sons and I was going.. geez… Ragnaros’ ass is gonna hurt…..

We ventured back into Blackwing Lair Sunday night and proceeded to get down Chromaggus and Nefarian.  We had trouble the week before on Nefarian and I was dreading what was going to happen, but everyone was eager.  We got Chromaggus down first attempt and ventured in to kill Nefarian on the first attempt!!!!!

We were so pumped we headed straight over to AQ40 setting our sights on Skeram!  We had tried Skeram a few times before but due to server issues and other issues, we never got enough attempts in to really learn him enough.  After several wipes, and ye old faithful "This is the last attempt" hoodoo, we got Skeram down.

I would list the loot, but it was too terrible to even bother.  Congratulations to those who got loot.

We ventured in to try Bug Family just last night and we made progress.  I’m sure next week we are gonna make progress.
